Tucker is the matriarch of our kennel. She is the mother of many of the dogs and is one of the best leaders I have ever run. Her drive and enthusiasm is unmatched and she only wants to go one speed...fast. She loves taking commands and turns on a dime. She is also excited to leave the main trail for a new adventure. She is very mellow hanging around the kennel except at feeding time, which is her second favorite thing to do. She has a monstrous appetite!

Mak is a lean, mean, running machine and is my knight in shining armor. He is low key compared to his siblings, a bit shy with new folks but a giant sweetheart to those he knows. Best of all, he is as solid as a rock in lead position. He and his sister, Dhaula, make a great pair at the front of the team. He has the same monstrous appetite as his mom Tucker, but is like the teenage kid who can eat 3 large pizzas a day and barely gain an ounce.

DHAULA

Just like her mom Tucker, Dhaula is one dedicated and focused leader. She lives for being first down the trail, sniffing out and chasing anything new. She's large like her mom, weighing in at about 60lbs. However, she holds her weight much better than Tucker did as a youngster which is very nice. She has a hardy appetite and doesn't like much goofing off from her partners while in harness. Different story in the dog yard though. She loves playing and chasing other dogs through the yard. She is also queen of surprise nose bops to anyone showing her affection.

Purna for short. This energetic cutie has all the appetite and energy we could dream of. She is all business on the gangline and always keeps a tight tug. Nanga is a feisty little girl who loves tackling steep hills. Right before a big hill she puts her head down and digs in, pulling as hard as she can to get the team going up at a descent speed. Fun story about this cutie, as a yearling on a late night run the aurora suddenly shot out from the mountains and she began barking wildly at the sky bewildered by the sudden movement. She runs best in team with her brother Gash.

MAVIS

Mavis is small but a mighty ball of energy and spunk! She has big drive, attitude and an even bigger love for her humans. She is one of the biggest cheerleaders on the team and is a superb leader. She has lots of drive and determination, and is always the first dog ready to go again. She is also the most cuddly dog of the kennel. That mixed with her smaller size makes her the best sleeping bag snuggler on campouts.

RAY

Ray is a strong, focused speedster. A freight train. An ever steady dog whose interest is just to continue moving forward down the trail. DUSTY

Dusty might be the sweetest dog in the kennel. She shows nothing but love and seems to just want to go, go, go. At 35 lbs. she is light on her feet with a tight tug and an appetite for more miles just like her siblings. Like her sister Mavis, she is a great cuddler and will be great to share a sleeping bag with also. Dusty mostly runs in the swing position and fills in as a leader whenever needed.

Manny is one outspoken, wild and crazy dog who never stops moving whether he's at his house or on the gangline. He can be quite the lover but he is pretty shy with new people. He'll run in any position but excels being in the front of the team. He is also the biggest cheerleader! Anytime we stop moving, Manny immediately starts barking and jumping trying to get the show on the road! It's infectious to the rest of the team, keeping spirits high.

This beauty is a favorite of everyone's because she is the calmest. She does have a sassy side though. Belly rubs are one of her favorite things and she is not shy about letting you know. She is a great leader but I have to pay attention because she loves randomly taking new trails without commands. Like her brother Olaus, she can be playful and goofy going down the trail. In the dog yard she is amazingly quiet and reserved but when she does get riled up, it makes everyone get riled up.

OLAUS

Olaus melts your heart upon first introduction with his eye batting and sweet, affectionate demeanor. But watch out, he is rowdy on the gangline. He's always ready to go and keeps things fun. Hours into a run he'll grab something random on the trail (booties or branches) carry them for a bit then toss them up for playtime or let them drop. I've even seen him leap up to catch snowflakes while running down the trail. He also has the most beautiful howl you have ever heard. He leads the pack with the after dinner "thank you's" every night.

Savage is another very boisterous cheerleader. He has an insane amount of energy and focus, and has a constant wagging tail and love for anything going on at the moment. Tek is a little sparkle of delight. She is small but mighty and sometimes thinks she should be the boss of all other dogs. Karsten is a very low key kind of dog. Easy to work with, easy to keep... very low maintenance which is always appreciated! Goes unnoticed by most people until they see him in the team. Kenny...This handsome boy is truly one of a kind. Mostly with his personality. He is extremely shy with most people until he has had plenty of time to warm up. But once he does he is the sweetest, goofball you have ever met. He gives the best hugs and loves hanging out doing whatever I'm doing. In the team though, he exerts a lot of power. He's the second biggest dog in the kennel, weighing in over 70lbs. He is most comfortable and focused running near the back of the team or in wheel.

Scout was my first puppy and is by far the most spoiled. She is pretty chill for a husky until we are ready to take off on a run. She is all business on the gangline and doesn't put up with any horsing around from her partners. She loves playing with other dogs but only when she feels like it. She runs in all positions but does best in team. She is also one of our biggest hunters. Every smell, sound and sighting thrills her on the trail. You will see her running anywhere in the team position.

For the 2022/23 season a percentage of all sponsorships and donations will go to the August Fund, a non-profit foundation for Alaska's retiring racing sled dogs. They help to provide veterinary care, and loving retirement homes for racing sled dogs from Iditarod, Yukon Quest, and professional sprint kennels. They are a registered Non-Profit 501c3. Their tax ID number is 46-3701510.
